This is completely my take and framework. You can have differentiated opinions and views. Here I tried to quantify the points as much as possible
DC and Marvel are two of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Both have created some of the most iconic and beloved characters in the history of comics, and their respective cinematic universes have been massive commercial successes.
One of the most important factors in determining the success of a comic book movie franchise is the box office revenue generated by the films. In this regard, both DC and Marvel have seen their fair share of successes and failures. DC's most successful film to date is "Aquaman", which grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide. Marvel, on the other hand, holds the top two spots with "Avengers: Endgame" and "Avengers: Infinity War", which grossed $2.798 billion and $2.048 billion, respectively.

When it comes to the characters themselves, both DC and Marvel have their own strengths and weaknesses. DC is known for creating some of the most iconic heroes in the industry, including Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. These characters have been around for decades and have been ingrained in popular culture for just as long. Marvel, on the other hand, has been able to create a wide variety of unique and relatable characters that have captured the hearts of audiences all over the world. From the X-Men to Spider-Man, Marvel has been able to create characters that are not only incredibly powerful, but also incredibly human.

n terms of merchandise sales, both DC and Marvel have been able to create massive franchises that extend beyond the world of comics and movies. From action figures to t-shirts, fans of both DC and Marvel have a wealth of merchandise to choose from. However, DC has been able to create some of the most iconic and recognizable logos and symbols in the industry, including the Batman symbol and the Superman emblem. These logos have become ubiquitous in pop culture and have helped to solidify DC's place in the industry.

Finally, movie ratings are another important factor to consider when comparing DC and Marvel. While both have had their fair share of critical and commercial successes, Marvel has been able to maintain a higher level of consistency across its films. Marvel films like "The Avengers", "Black Panther", and "Iron Man" have been universally praised by both fans and critics alike, while DC films like "Batman v Superman" and "Justice League" have been met with mixed reactions.

Social media has become an incredibly important factor in the success of comic book movies in recent years. Both DC and Marvel have been able to cultivate massive followings on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. DC has been able to leverage its massive fanbase to generate buzz for its upcoming films, while Marvel has been able to use social media to build excitement for its various film and television projects. In terms of social media following, Marvel has a slight edge over DC, with over 135 million followers across its various platforms.

In conclusion, both DC and Marvel have been able to create massive franchises that have captured the hearts and minds of audiences all over the world. While both have their own strengths and weaknesses, it's clear that Marvel has been able to maintain a higher level of consistency across its various films and projects. However, DC's iconic characters and recognizable logos have helped to solidify its place in the industry, and its upcoming projects, such as "The Batman" and "The Flash", are highly anticipated by fans. Ultimately, the debate over which is better, DC or Marvel, will likely continue for years to come.

For now, Marvel is way ahead DC in most of the aspects except character development where DC is unbeatably supreme.
